Lives and counting healing through this work

Your strongest medicine lives within your own body

Hey, I'm Alexis

Healing isn’t meant to be so hard…

So many years of my life were spent trying to fix what I believed was wrong with me, trying to make sense of what I was feeling and hiding who I was deep down to try and be who the world told me to be.

My early life taught my body to brace for impact, and to always anticipate the worst. I grew up with a host of illnesses, symptoms, big feelings, and confusing emotions that never made sense to anyone. And through a number of experiences, my system came to believe that it was safer not to express what I was feeling, safer to override my needs, safer to contain my pain deep inside my body.

So you can say that I arrived to Somatic psychology, trauma work and emotional health from my own deep need of it. My training and education spans across Somatic Experiencing, parts work, attachment, nervous system regulation and more. My core focus on attunement, and more importantly self attunement has shaped my work and the method I teach inside my programs.

I know firsthand the challenge of navigating feelings and symptoms that don’t seem to make sense.

The truth is, it doesn’t have to be this hard. You don’t have to be fighting a war against your body every day.

You don’t have to be just “managing” your emotions, symptoms and triggers. And you don’t have to dig up all of your trauma, go through a long and painful process, or spend all of your life trying to heal in order for change to happen.

Instead, you can experience more freedom, more peace, more presence, and I’m here to show you how simple it gets to be.

I’m a Somatic Practitioner, writer, and educator

But I’m also a storyteller at heart, a forever student, an adventure seeker, nature lover, baking enthusiast, proud dog mom, and ultimately a human being on a mission to support other humans in learning how to better relate to themselves, their body, and their emotions.

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of being able to work with thousands of men and women all over the globe and one thing each and every one of us has in common is that in one way or another, we’re all just longing to be seen, heard, known and understood. We want to make sense to ourselves and the world around us. We want to belong. We want to be chosen. We want to be seen. But life has taught us that it’s not safe. Life has taught us to adapt in other ways.

But if there’s anything I’ve come to know through my own healing and the healing of others is that our bodies are brilliant and no matter where you are on your path, you make sense.

Imagine what could be possible for you in 6 months…

"

I first found Lexy after ~11 years in therapy and ~5 years professionally in the mental health field- and from the beginning her work has been deeply impactful to me. I first did her course and found the tools, activities and practices SO helpful.

I felt like someone was saying things and giving me words and little tools for my experience that not even years in therapy, my grad school degree and many mental health training as a therapist myself) had given me. Learning about my nervous system from Lexy and implementing ways to connect with it has helped me so much. When you find a human who has been through stuff, and has relentlessly committed their own healing- you hit the jackpot- and that's exactly who Lexy is. Following the course, working with Lexy has taken me to places of healing and resources that I struggled to believe were possible for me 6 months ago, even after 11 years of therapy.

The approach she offers- the process of getting in touch with your body- is so gentle. The resources, the gentle tools and practices- have been so transformative to me. I recommend working with her in any capacity with my whole heart and I'm so grateful for her presence and wisdom in the world.

Lexy has taken me to places of healing and resources that I struggled to believe were possible for me 6 months ago, even after 11 years of therapy.

I joined ATY because I wanted a different approach to my healing. A softer more truly respecting of self approach. As someone that is navigating unresolved complex trauma and has already been through A LOT of self development there has been a missing piece. The piece of attunement and I wanted to learn that skill.

While the practice of self-attunement is an ongoing commitment this gave me the permission to soften. This also gave me the lived experience that slowing down to soften DOES work! I know how to meet myself and witness what is truly needed in the moment.

Having Lexy as a guide is a gift! She is beyond experienced- she is embodied in this work. The type of environment she creates is significant because not only was I encouraged but I *actually* did feel empowered to go at my own pace. The lack of pressure is refreshing! She truly holds a safe space filled with a lot of choice, depth, and connection. I felt extremely met in all my needs and questions.

I also highly recommend seeing Lexy 1:1! I have had the privilege the with working with her before, during, and after the program and I feel like it really took it to the next level.
